The 15.4W value is the PSE-side reference limit, not the guaranteed usable power at the far end of every cable. Cable length, conductor size and PD demand matter.

Record the camera, access point, phone or other endpoint model and its PoE class or maximum input.
Confirm cable category, conductor quality, run length and connector condition for both data and power.
Match rate, fiber mode, wavelength, connector, reach and the remote optical endpoint.
State mounting location, ambient temperature, ventilation and required power-plug country.

Is this converter a PoE source or a powered device?
It is a Power Sourcing Equipment device. The RJ45 port provides data and power to a compatible Powered Device.
Will it power any PoE camera or access point?
No. This reference profile is IEEE 802.3af with a 15.4W PSE-side limit. Confirm the PD standard, class and worst-case input before use.
What if the endpoint requires PoE+ or PoE++?
Do not use the 802.3af profile without verification. Request a converter with the required 802.3at or 802.3bt power budget and matching supply.
Is 15.4W available at the remote device?
Not necessarily. The stated value is at the PSE side. Cable resistance and length reduce the power available to the Powered Device.
Is the SFP module supplied with the converter?
The unit uses an open 1G SFP slot. Specify the required multimode, single-mode, BiDi or wavelength-selective link so the correct optics can be quoted.
How far can the fiber link reach?
Reach depends on the selected SFP pair and the complete optical budget. The converter itself does not define one universal fiber distance.
What should be checked when data works but PoE does not?
Verify the PD standard and demand, PSE power supply, copper pin contact, cable length and quality, connectors, indicators and actual voltage at the endpoint.
What information should be sent with an RFQ?
Send the PD model and power requirement, copper run, SFP type and fiber route, remote equipment, plug country, ambient conditions, quantity and schedule.
