Ubiquiti Compatible SFP and QSFP Modules
Ubiquiti-compatible SFP, SFP+, SFP28 and QSFP28 modules reviewed by exact UniFi or UISP device, port, software and link.
Use this reference to prepare an optics request for a UniFi or UISP link. Ubiquiti states that third-party modules are not artificially blocked, but also warns that they are not formally tested across every device, software release and hardware revision.
What to send for a useful compatibility check
Send the exact gateway, switch or router model, software or firmware release, port and configured speed. Include both endpoints and the original module reference when replacing an installed optic.
Host environment
Exact UniFi or UISP device, software or firmware release and port
Port behavior
Configured speed, auto or forced setting, native or breakout mode and both endpoints
Optical path
Fiber grade, route length, connector/polish, patch panels and loss
Module request
Ubiquiti OEM reference or label, monitoring needs, quantity and required date
Common Ubiquiti OEM references
This table is a request-planning reference, not a universal compatibility list. Exact reach can depend on fiber grade and optical budget. Confirm the current official hardware documentation for the target platform and software.

Frequently asked questions
Does Ubiquiti block all third-party SFP modules?
Ubiquiti states that it does not impose artificial restrictions on third-party SFP modules and DAC cables, but it also says that they are not formally tested across every UniFi device. Treat each exact device, port, software release and module revision as a separate validation case.
Why can the same module work in one Ubiquiti device but not another?
Port capabilities, software release, configured speed and hardware revision can differ. Ubiquiti also warns that some revisions of a third-party module may work while others do not, so include a label photo and test the exact sample.
Can a multi-rate optic be assumed to select 1G, 10G or 25G automatically?
No. Verify that the exact host port supports the requested rate and review its auto or forced-speed behavior at both endpoints. A module data-rate label does not prove that the host will select the intended mode.
What must be confirmed for a Ubiquiti BiDi link?
Identify both endpoints and verify complementary transmit and receive wavelengths in both directions. Also confirm the simplex LC UPC plant, route length and the exact two-module pair before ordering.
What should be checked for an RJ45 SFP or SFP+ link?
Confirm the device, supported speed, cable category and length, seating and operating temperature. Ubiquiti recommends inserting the RJ45 SFP module before connecting the Ethernet cable; for a long 10G copper run, test a short high-quality cable to separate cabling from module or port issues.
